Since I spend most of my time photographing liquids of one form or another, I thought I’d change it up during some down time I had during the holidays with some ink. Drops of acrylic ink, two different colors this time around, in to a clear fish tank full of water. Click the shutter and then have a good time in Photoshop with backgrounds and textures. This is the second one I’ve tried. They’re just for fun and to see what I can make.

Pepper
I saw this pepper at a farmers market in central NJ. I’d never seen a multi colored one like this before. Knew I wanted to photograph it. Also a good chance to channel me some Edward Weston and have some fun in the studio. Cheers!
Light 'Em Up
Of course the inspiration for this is Uncle Fester from the Addams Family. It’s a simple composite of two photographs. The first is with the light on hanging from a bare light fixture. For the second, the silver base, the light bulb is affixed to a table with some blue sticky tack. Two Paul C Buff Einstein lights illuminate each side of the light. Canon 5D Mk II using 100mm 2.8 L Lens. 1/200 at f5.6. 2 images then put together in Photoshop with some slight seasoning in Lightroom.
Beer Glasses
One glass and one growler. I wanted this photograph to be mysterious, sexy and alluring. Figured low key light was the way to go to achieve that. What’s going to come out of that growler? You’ll have to wait to find out.
