We’ve got a local pizzeria near us that makes an amazing Grandma’s Pie. It’s a thin crust square pie with fresh mozzarella and basil. So good.
Anthony Bourdain's Macau-Style Pork Chop Sandwich (modified)
I’ve always been a big fan of Anthony Bourdain. I’ve read just about everything he wrote and watched every episode of every show. I was so excited to to get his cookbook Appetites and try out his recipes. This was a modification, based on ingredients I could find, on his Macau Style Pork Chop Sandwich. It was delicious. Needless to say, I was heartbroken when he left us. Way too early. RIP.
Homemade Soft Pretzels
Soft pretzels have always been a weakness of mine. All the way back to grammar school, I remember buying one after lunch for a quarter. Finding myself with a couple of hours to kill, I took a shot at making my own. They came out pretty good.
Red velvet with cream cheese frosting. This guy and his buddies didn’t last very long in our house before they were eaten. I barely had enough time to make the photograph of them. The bokeh was important to isolate the one and make that the focus.

Sometimes you just need to throw caution and diet out the door, say the hell with it and indulge way too much. These 3 red velvet cupcakes didn’t last long after I photographed them. The milk was perfect to wash them down.
