I’ve been a Yankee fan since I can remember and enjoyed a beer well before I was legally allowed to. So when I saw Pinstripe Pills from Blue Point Brewing Company at my local beverage sellers, I had to give it a try. At the same time, Peggy was making masks and made a Yankees one for me. It seemed like a perfect fit to bring them all together.
American Haze
American Haze Voodoo Ranger, It’s a great IPA from New Belgium. It’s also an appropriate name for what we’re going through in the United States right now. We need to come together to support people who have been oppressed way too long. We need to work to hear them and work with them until they get the justice they deserve and the equality they were promised. We need to come together to better fight a virus pandemic that we are no where near having it under control. We need to get the country out of the haze it’s in.
I'll Pour You a Pinot
I wanted to capture the motion of the wine pouring in to the glass for this photograph. Liquids can really provide a sense of motion and how you capture them in the image is important. I wanted the initial stream of the pour to be frozen in time and well outlined by light. As it hit the glass and fell in to the bottom, I wanted that blur of motion to show movement and chaos that happens in the glass.
Sweet Lemonade
2 parts fresh squeezed lemon juice. One part simple syrup. Shake over ice and pour over crushed ice. Top off with seltzer water. Garnish with lemon slice. A perfect beverage for a hot summer day. A perfect beverage to photograph. Enjoy.
Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA
60 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head, one of the old school West Coast Style IPA’s. Hoppy, clear and delicious, as long as you like the bitter hoppy flavor. I made this photograph by placing the bottle on a piece of glass between two workhorse table legs. Then shot up from under the glass for the perspective.
Wrench
Wrench from Industrial Arts Brewing Company. Forget your tool box, this beer belongs in your fridge!
Summer!
With the unofficial start of summer it’s the perfect time to grab yourself a crisp clean Pilsner. Cheers!
It's gonna be a bright, bright SunshinE day.
With the unofficial start of summer having passed last weekend, warmer weather has arrived and it’s time to think about cool crisp refreshing beer. Nothing satisfies on a hot summer day like a pilsner. Cool and crisp. The perfect beer after you mow the lawn.
Scotch Me!
I’ll admit it, when I was younger I didn’t have a taste for scotch at all, any whiskey really. But as I’ve aged I’ve come to appreciate how special a great glass of scotch can be. The more I try, the more subtle flavors you discover. It’s real easy for me to make a photograph of any whiskey, ‘cause I look forward to drinking it afterwards. You cannot waste it.
