Drinking for Science with The Alementary Brewing. I had the opportunity to photograph a brew day. Next time you crack a beer pause a moment to think of all that goes in to making it. It is a science and an art.
A Big Beer
I wanted to perfect the basics with this beer photograph. Get the glow right. Make the condensation drops as perfect as I could. Get a good foam on the head. This is the type of photograph I make from time to time just to see how I can keep getting better at it.
Copper Cream Ale from Zed's Beer
When you visit Zed’s Beer, you’ll hear the words “approachable craft beer”. Their beers are easy drinking traditional takes on styles with a emphasis on craft and craftsmanship. They make excellent beer and are all around good people. For this photograph, I wanted to approach the beer real close. Get tight and put the beer within reach. The copper color of their Copper Cream Ale just popped, as did it’s taste.
One of the originals
Sam Adams, the first micro I ever tried....and boy did I like it. I wanted to try shooting a beer on it’s side this time and I felt that the flag was going to be a good addition to this photograph.
Forget Thirsty, Stay Young my Friend.
Sometimes in life you just have to have fun. Stop taking yourself so seriously and just play. That was the goal with this photograph. Take an old toy my daughter had, create a very simple beer and beer bottle and the sun, because why not. Then add a beer to it. Stay young!
Kane Brewing Growler
The Growler. The vessel which allows you to take a good amount of beer away from a brewery to drink at home. There are good and bad points of them. Yes they hold a lot, but they don’t keep beer fresh for very long. You’ll have to drink it within a day or two at the most before it goes flat. With this photograph, I wanted it to look as if you’d just pulled it out of a cooler and it was ready to drink.
