When I saw the dog logo and the deep red of the cap on this Lagunitas Ale, I knew I wanted to photograph it. With a little clear coat over the cap and some glycerine and water mix to create the condensation, I created this with two lights , one on each side. The light camera left was the key light, so a bit brighter than the one camera right.
One. Cascade. Hop
One single hop, looking for other hops to get together and cohabitating in a tasty beer. Must be in to fermentation.
Cascade Vine
It’s hop harvesting season. Pretty soon we are going to get the wet hop IPA’s hitting the stores. Local breweries will be receiving fresh hops from local growers. Other businesses will start featuring hop flavored products. It’s a great time of the year for this reason. Here’s a vine of cascade hops from the Fir Fram in Colts Neck, New Jersey and three beers ready for you to drink.
Hey Punk! Punk IPA from Brew Dog. They call it a Modern British Style IPA. I call it good. This photograph was made with multiple photographs using different focus points to get the entire can in focus. When you are this close getting focus in one shot is impossible.
Hey Punk!
Do What's Right
Do what’s right! It’s always a good motto. This beer was brewed to commemorate the establishment of the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. A new national park unit located in Northern Maine. It is a monument in progress with limited services, and in the coming years services will be added to the monument. The folks at Maine Beer Company are obviously interested in what it right. In making this photograph, I wanted to make this bottle look as classy as their team must be. Cheers! Start of the Night
In setting up this photograph, I wanted to convey a scene at a bar. A group of people getting together to enjoy a few drinks and each other’s company. Sadly, something that cannot happen safely in the days of Covid. Someday we will be able to grab a drink and enjoy a night out again, Until then, be safe.
Little Sumpin' Hazy
It’s hot and hazy outside, quench your thirst with some cold and hazy...”Little Sumpin’ Hazy” from the Lagunitas Brewing Company. To make this photographer, I shot a rear light through a translucent background, with lights on each side. A mixture of glycerine and water created the condensation.
Anchor Steam Beer
When you look at the history of craft beer in the US, one name is always front and center. Anchor Steam. What started as a regional brewery, it some how found a way to survive (barely) through the period of time when those breweries were badly beaten by the rise of the big national breweries, Fritz Maytag cam along in the mid 1960’s, fell in love with the brewery and purchased it. From then on Fritz and Anchor played a big part in the brewing renaissance of the 70’s.
